1962 Gibson ES-330 TC

1962 Gibson ES-330 TC

A super clean and undeniably cool 1962 Gibson ES-330 TC - one of the cleanest we've had in fact! With the pickup located in the middle these are voiced slightly different to the TD models. The absence of a pickup reduces magnetic pull on the strings and saves weight creating a resonant thinline model that has remained a bit of a sleeper on the vintage market. This is a cool transitional model with block inlays and black P90 cover before they switched to Nickel.
The finish is vibrant and beautifully preserved, and overall it's a superb looking example! The original tuners are retained in the case while some like for like repro's have been brought in for stability with no extra holes drilled. There's a plugged strap button hold on the heel but the rest is nicely stock, including the Nickel trapeze tailpiece, reflector knobs, and electrics.
Sounds wise it delivers classic thinline P90 tone which balances warmth and cut very well with a nice amount of harmonic richness and a pleasant bark and attack if you dig in.
Being a '62 model we're still in the desirable 1 11/16" nut width territory and with a comfortable, medium D profile typical of the era and plenty of life in the original frets this one plays very well indeed.
Lightweight, responsive, clean and original, this is a fantastic all round example. A real gem for those after that unmistakable Gibson hollowbody sound, with a minimalist twist! Comes with a later purple-lined Gibson case.
