1964 Vox AC-30/6 Bass
A 1964 Vox AC-30 B anyone?
Introduced in 1958 at the request of Hank Marvin, the AC-30 would go on to be a touchstone of guitar tone, gracing stages all over the world. This BASS version was introduced in 1963. In essence a standard AC-30 with a pair of changed capacitors in the tone circuit, it was an anomaly considering the introduction of the T60 and Foundation series at the same time.
This amp is in great condition as you can see from the pictures. The smooth tolex, a feature introduced in 1963, is free of tears and any real signs of wear. The front panel has been modified and it seems tolex from the back has been used to re-cover it. You’ll see from internal photos that this has been extensively repaired. The grill cloth has worn a little but is not too damaged. The copper anodised control plate has a few minor marks but nothing too substantial. The back panel has been modified too for additional outputs possibly. Evidence of these has been removed.
Internally a few of the components have been replaced and the amp has been thoroughly tested to make sure it's safe. As you’d imagine, for these amps to work as they should, some of the components need to be updated. Any changes to the circuit have been corrected it seems.

This amp has a great tone, very evocative of the period with plenty of headroom.
